30x30 Federal Land Grab
In 2021, President Biden issued an Executive Order, that basically states that in order to protect us from the effects of climate change, the federal government should “working with state, local, tribal and territorial governments, agricultural and forest landowners, fishermen and other key stakeholders to achieve the goal of conserving at least 30% of our lands and waters by 2030.”
That does not consider how much ground and water the government is already “conserving”, which is substantial. And it is unclear where the funding for this endeavor would be. The most aggregious part of the plan is that is doesn't allow for humans or agriculture, thereby restricting our ability to feed and support ourselves as a nation. Current federal conservation districts are notoriously unkept and unmanaged.
The source I reviewed* stated that there isn’t even a definition for “conserving” leading one to wonder how they will ‘grab’ our land and what they will do with it after they have it.
A couple of resources for you are linked below. Or google it – there’s quite a bit. But note that the name used for the initiative change often as public outcry grows.
